    Removing that Lantana is a real job. The best way is to get a sprayer with Roundup and as you cut the brush you have Pat give the cut a good spray. But you have to spray it quick before it dries and it will die off. Then next season you can wrap a chain around it and pull it out. Take care, John

      I have found that glyphosate works best and is the cheapest. The problem is if you spray it it kills the grass. Cut the lantana at the ground and apply strong Glyphosate (round up) on fresh cut stump. The other way if its out in the open and its large is to remove it with a machine in one big tree. I did that in the movie. John

    Lantana is a pest and can grow to a huge size, as I’ve seen many years ago in the bush. Good luck with getting rid of it. Thank heavens the cattle made a slight improvement around the yards, John. I really hope things improve for you both, mate. That bull certainly wanted a free ride into town, 😂.

    At around 5:23 on this video they use an electric crusher/schredder to crush the char. Looks like they modified the top to make a larger hopper. These things run at low rpm and have a rotating barrel to crush garden waste. Looks like zero dust. ua-cam.com/video/Zh61x7KY1CU/v-deo.htmlsi=QKVFsTb_ZtVics2I

    Enjoyed that John. My brother was like this. Bring 6 beers and drink a carton, the tightass is never invited to anything now. My jack Russell sleeps on my rottweiler, both clowns. Biggest trouble maker was my old Jack Russell. Very intelligent but always getting in trouble. He used to attack the rottweiler. Little dog but very tough and crazy.

      Before we had the Jack Russel we had another one, and our friends had a Rottweiler we introduced them and the Jack Russell latched onto the Rottweilers ear. The Rottweiler couldn't get its head around enough to have a go at the JR. It was a major job to get them apart without getting bit. I don't suppose you were originally from Ballina. John

    • @petergoodwin2465
      @petergoodwin2465 7 днів тому

      @farminglifeaustralia6716 no from Melbourne unfortunately. I have a million stories of my old Jack Russell. He used to get out making trouble. Dog catcher would chase him up to the creek. He would wait until he got close them swim across and look at him from the other side. He used to stir up the German shepherd down the street. Shepherd broke the gate and chased him home , Rottweiler got the German shepherd and he attacked him as well. Told the rottweiler to stop and she did , Jack Russell wouldn't give up. He was hanging off the German shepherd while he's running away. He bit me as I was trying to stop him. He never changed and lived 18 years. Was never a dull moment with him. He had all kinds of schemes going. He drove the rottweiler nuts , rottweiler would never hurt him though. Just hold his head on the ground with her paws until he had enough. Hour later he's back for more or would steal bones from her. So many things he did, like a little gangster.

    • @farminglifeaustralia6716
      @farminglifeaustralia6716 13 днів тому

      I think everyone has a different opinion. The objective is to make charcoal at a hot temperature to get rid of the bad by products. Traditional charcoal is made in a very low oxygen low heat long drawn out method that leaves a lot of undesired residue. There are other objectives as well if you are a purest. Cause as little gas and smoke while its being made. Use only organic materials to charge the char etc. My opinion is if its made at above 450 C and its charged to make it work its ok. John
